Canoodle: Redefining Utensil
Canoodle, a series of conceptual tableware, emerges from my nomadic background to explore universal human connections through reimagined dining implements. Inspired by the ubiquitous spoon, I've liberated this everyday object from conventional constraints, focusing solely on its essential function of holding food and liquid. The result is a collection of elongated, hand-fitting pieces that bring sustenance closer to the body, encouraging a more mindful and intimate approach to eating.
Drawing its name from the term meaning "to engage in amorous embracing," Canoodle invites users to caress and embrace these objects, tapping into our shared primal instincts for touch and exploration. By blurring the lines between functional design and sculptural art, this series challenges users to reconsider their relationship with everyday objects and the rituals they facilitate. In an era of global mobility, Canoodle serves as a tangible reminder of the experiences that unite us across diverse cultural backgrounds, inviting reflection on how we find comfort and connection through familiar objects in unfamiliar settings.
